Odius H. never returned to my office. For several weeks I thought of him often and expected to see him again. I looked forward to sharing all the information I had found with him. As time went by, I filed the information and thought of him less. But I have to admit, I’m sorry Odius H. never returned.
What’s more, I never again saw another orange and black Historis odius butterfly. It was as if they had never lived in the forest. Why were there suddenly so many of these caterpillars? Why had I never seen them before? Why are they gone now? Although I am not sure, I feel that the appearance of so many of them was connected to the hurricane. So many things changed after that. Perhaps these changes favored the new population. I am also fairly certain the tachinid flies were the cause of the population’s total ruin.
So now I have some answers, but I don’t have Odius H.
